Grant helps students learn with Legos

Gretna Elementary School students have a new way to practice hands-on learning thanks to a grant in excess of $17,000 for Lego blocks.

The Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce offers teacher creativity grants each year for classroom projects deemed creative and innovative.

“These grants foster creativity between educators and their students in the classroom,” said Paula Faison, third grade teacher.

Faison was joined by two other Gretna Elementary School teachers on the application for “WeDo Legos, WeDo Stem.”
