Applications are accepted any time prior to the deadline - end of business, Tuesday, February 28. Materials mailed must be postmarked by the respective deadline. Acceptance announcements are made one month after the application deadline.

As 2016 comes to a close, many use this time to look back and consider the successes and the shortcomings of the past year.
While useful, I don’t want to spend my time looking to the past. The past is useful for learning and studying but we cannot live there. We cannot continue to look back if we want to move forward. I’d rather spend my time thinking about what we should expect from 2017.

A local collaborative is conducting a community health assessment in Danville and Pittsylvania County to better understand the factors that determine the health of the Dan River Region’s residents.

As we do every two years, the Danville Regional Foundation’s staff and board members recently went on a trip to “see the possible” in another community. We plan these visits so we can see community transformation first hand, meet their leadership, ask questions and bring back ideas that often lead to future initiatives and projects. This year, we visited Owensboro, Kentucky.

The summer is quickly coming to an end, and here at the Danville Regional Foundation, we recently said goodbye to 10 talented young interns that spent 10 weeks with us here in the Dan River Region.
Each summer we bring the best and brightest talent from across the country to help us explore new ideas and look for new opportunities.
This year, we turned our focus to neighborhoods in Danville.

A new initiative to improve the health of residents in Danville is getting the finishing touches that will bring Community Health Workers into neighborhoods and homes to help people find the medical care they need.
