Post-Pandemic Recovery - Ray Minor

A Note from DRF: A question we find ourselves asking right now is what communities will look like and how they will operate in a post-pandemic world. As restrictions are lifted, we may freely move about more but some businesses, organizations and those in the workforce will still struggle to recover for some time to come. DRF asked our friend Ted Abernathy with Economic Leadership LLC to curate some thoughts on the subject from leaders across the United States to help us think about what’s next.

The lasting impact of COVID 19 on society will be significant in the ways we live, work and play.

I can envision a society that is more health conscious, and more science and technology driven. More people will work remotely, and more students will be educated online.

For the foreseeable future, long distance travel will be tampered. Restaurants and bars will alter the way they prepare food and serve customers. There will be more regulations on processing and delivery of food and drugs. Transactions of every variety will be primarily done online. People will be less inclined to shake hands and hug strangers.

Society will be less humanistic and more robotic. Health, safety, and technology industries will boom.
