Corrie Bobe, Danville's director of economic development and tourism, to step down

On Wednesday, Danville City Manager Ken Larking announced that Corrie Bobe was stepping down from that position to join the Danville Regional Foundation.

A Colorado-based company with ties to a data center developer plans to buy 2,990 acres at the Southern Virginia Megasite at Berry Hill in Pittsylvania County, the largest industrial site in Virginia.
If expectations laid out in a performance agreement are met, this would be the largest project in terms of job creation and investment dollars in Southside Virginia’s history — topping the 2024 announcement of the site’s first tenant, a Tennessee-based lithium-ion battery separator manufacturer called Microporous.

The long-delayed Riverfront Park in Danville — designed to be a star attraction in the River District — is nearly finished and should be open in the latter part of spring.
Danville Parks and Recreation employees scoped out the park on Friday, looking over things like the stage area and power supplies to plan a plethora of events into the summer to welcome the newest addition to Danville's downtown.
